High Performing Teams Simulation

Learn to create and sustain High Performance Teams through risk-free experiential learning. Chapter is a High Performance Team Simulation Game that allows the participants to master the skills necessary to quickly build high performing teams with solid relationships and excellent teamworking practices. Building a successful High Performance Team requires understanding both process development and change management. In this simulation, participants engage with ten peers over a nine-week period while you build new team processes and practices, ensuring they adopt these changes.

The Challenge

You have just become a new team leader to ten colleagues and must build a High Performance Team. Several of your colleagues also applied for your position and are not entirely on board with your leadership. To create your team within the nine weeks, you must make decisions that build your team’s performance both in terms of personal change management and in team process development.

Dashboard to track progress
  • Team building runs for nine weeks over three rounds. Track your results each week on a visual dashboard and review learning at the end of each round.
Stakeholder interactions
  • Each stakeholder has a talking avatar that offers information about themselves to help you build relationships and determine next interactions with them.
  • Optional off-simulation role play with facilitator can offer further information.
Stakeholder analysis
  • In-simulation Stakeholder Mapping App allows you to analyze stakeholders across two critical dimensions: their attitude to the change versus their influence on the change. This helps determine your engagement priorities.
Team analysis
  • In-simulation Team Process Assessment App allows you to take a health check on your team processes. This app covers four essential process aspects required by High Performance teams: Team meetings, team accountability, team communication, and team support.

Chapter is tailored for the company that runs the simulation, allowing participants to start in a familiar context. Chapter is led by a facilitator and can be run over half a day or one full day if you choose to add additional theory and exercises. It also has internet resiliency to avoid loss of simulation information during internet outages. The book A Systematic Guide to High Performing Teams (HPTs) may be included to support the underlying theory of the simulation.
