Default Settings Diagram

This is one category in the Default Settings dialog. Use the Diagram category to choose settings for new models.

Note: Use the Model Style Properties Panel for the model and the Model Settings Properties Panel to change colors, font and options for the current model.

Default View

• Map View - new models will start in map view, but will retain their last state when saved.
• Model View - new models will start in model view.

Colors

• Variable Color is the color shown for all variables - stocks, flows, converters and modules, unless one of those types is explicitly overridden.

• Variable Fill Color is the color that variable shapes will be filled with when they are drawn.

• Connector Color is the color that connectors will be drawn.

• Page Background Color is the color used for the background of the diagram. All objects, including variable names not in the center of stocks, will be drawn on top of this background.

• Stock Flow Color overrides Variable Color and is the color that the stocks and flows will be drawn with.

• Converter Color overrides variable Color and is the color converters will be drawn with.

• Module Color overrides variable Color and is the color module will be drawn with.

• Sector Color is the color sectors will be drawn with. This is does not ever derive from Variable Color.

Variable Text

Choose the font, font size, attributes, and color of building block labels.

Options

Set these default diagram options:

• Use layout guides - select this box to turn on layout guides, dotted lines that appear when the center or edge of an object you're moving aligns with the center or edge of another object.
• Show pages - select this box to show page breaks in the background of the model diagram.
• Results panel graph is comparative - select this box to show comparative graphs in the Results panel by default.
• Disable posters - select this to disable message posters from displaying their messages and pausing runs.

Set these default attributes for various building blocks:

• Stock, Flow Size - Small, Medium, or Large
• Converter, Module Size - Small, Medium, Large, or Name Only.
• Stock, Module, Converter Name Position - Top, Center, or Bottom
