Default Settings Formats

This is one category in the Default Settings dialog. Use the Formats settings category to choose default settings for number and time formats, including number-text mappings.

Note: Use the Model Settings Properties Panel and the settings for individual variables and objects to change the formatting of numbers for the current model.

The settings are the same as those on the Scales and Ranges Tab for a variable, with the additional ability to add time formats and number-text mappings.

• Precision – Select the numerical precision of values for time.
• Display as – Select whether you want values for time to be displayed as a number, a currency, or a percentage.
• Scale by – Select whether you want to scale values for time by 000's, millions, billions, trillions, or not at all (none). Values will be displayed according to the scale chosen (k for thousands, M for millions, B for billions, etc.).
• Mapping - Select the number-text mapping to use from the list created in the Manage Number-Text Mappings dialog box. This allows labels such as Early, Middle, Late to appear on the x-axis of graphs which can make them more readable.
• Use 000's separator – Select this check box to display the appropriate separator ("," or ".") after each thousand in the value.

Manage Time Formats

This will open the Manage Time Labels dialog box, but changes made will apply only to new models, not the current model. The existing list of time labels may not include those in the current model.

Manage Number-Text Mappings

This will open the Manage Number-Text Mappings dialog box, but changes made will apply only to new models, not the current model. The existing list of number-text mappings may not include those in the current model.
