Defining play movie buttons

Use the following procedure to place a play movie button in your model and to assign a QuickTime movie file (.MOV) to it.

For more information about the types of buttons you can add to your model, see Overview: Buttons.

Notes: In order for model users to play movies assigned to a play movie button, they must have QuickTime installed on their computer.

We recommend that you store all files associated with Play Movie buttons in a folder named "Movies", in the same folder as your model file. This helps ensure that your model and its associated files will be easily transportable from your machine to the machines of your clients and colleagues, or when publishing to the web.

  1. On the Interface, Map, or Model layer toolbar, click and hold the Information button tool and then select the Play Movie button tool .
